Our Sister Missionaries aka Our Angels

As I said, the sisters became a huge part of our lives.  We will forever be grateful for their love and influence on our lives.  As one would leave, another amazing young woman would take her place and continue with that love for us.  This is major picture overload but I wanted to get in our pictures of our angels!

We absolutely love forever our Alexis Wulfenstein and McKell Petersen!  They played a vital part of our healing process.  We took them to try out sushi and they fell in love!  It soon became a regular place for us to take the sisters!

Ethan found some easter eggs and put on a hunt for Sister Wulfenstein and Sister Petersen.  The special egg was the one with a lego in it!

Petersen and Wulfenstein always paid special attention to Austin, who wasn't quite sure how to be once his best friend was gone.  You could tell there was just something missing for him, and they would come and play basketball with him when they could.

Ashton tried to rope Sister Wulfenstein so that we could keep her forever!  It was worth a shot!

We were so happy when the sisters got special permission to come to the OKC temple with us when we all went to take Burk's name through!  Such a special day!

Such a hard day when Sister Wulfenstein was transferred to Muskogee.  It was hard to let her go!

A year or so after her mission, Alexis came back with her mom to visit!

We are so proud of her and the beautiful woman she is!

Luckily we still had Sister Petersen!

It was actually Mothers Day when we met Sister Petersen's new companion, Sister Moreno.  The first thing we had them do when we met them was make a dubsmash video.  We had gotten hooked on them, and there was one from Nacho Libre about getting baptized which was perfect for the sisters!  It was a great way to break the ice, and we became instant friends!

It was so fun to see the excitement on their faces as they got to call home and talk to their family!  We let their families know how much we appreciated them coming out on their mission, and they were so happy to see that their girls were being taken care of and loved!

The sisters took good care of us too!  They came out and helped us with registration at the Bruin Quarterback Club golf tournament that Randy puts on.

They also made this new game up that if they beat us at jingo we had to do give them a name to teach and if we beat them they had to give us service.  I think we ended up losing!

Sister Andrea Moreno was only with us for the last 6 weeks of her mission but we loved her dearly!  This picture was taken after she had been home for a year and had come back out to visit!  We love her!

Our next sister to join Sister Petersen was Sister Kashlee Valle.  She is absolutely beautiful!

She was with us for Sister Petersen's last transfer.  McKell ended up staying in Bartlesville for 6 months and basically became part of the family.  It was really hard to let her go!

But like some of our other sweet sisters, she came back with her mom to visit us after she had been home!  I still have her name tag she gave me up on my magnet board.

Sister Valle was with us for a long time too, and we really became close to her!  She always loved to give it to Randy!  I still remember them running around in circles, her chasing him down!  Haha!!

She was able to help out a lot with the new foundation Clint started, the PlayforBurk Foundation.

Her new companion was Sister Abigail Murray, and they were together for 6 weeks before Sister Valle completed her mission and was on her way home.

It was kind of crazy because it felt like we got so many sisters who came to our area as their last transfer before heading home!  We'll miss you Kashlee!

Sister Murray was the first sister that we had in a long time who wasn't on their last transfer!  After Sister Valle left, Sister Murray was paired up with Sister Ally Larmouth.  Sister Larmouth so super sweet but kind of quiet.

We teased her a lot though because after Sister Murray left she really opened up!  For a few weeks, Sister Larmouth actually had two companions.

But then it was just Sister Ally Larmouth and Sister Kaitlyn Lunt

Oh how we LOVED these two sisters!

This picture was taken because I had made rice krispy treats for them, but when they showed up, Sister Lunt was on splits.  So we thought we'd give Sister Larmouth a hard time!

We have so many pictures of us with these sweet girls!  Get ready for picture overload!

We will miss you!!

But luckily we held on to Sister Lunt!  However, now our sisters were no longer our sisters!  We were given elders and the sisters were in charge of another ward in town.  But we kept them close!

If they ever needed anything, especially dinners, we were there for them!

Sister Lunt was then given Sister Ensign as her new companion.  I love this picture of Avery and Sister Lunt!

Sister Lunt loved Randy's homemade fries and steak, that was her favorite meal!

She was like one of our own!

We even chased her down in Alma, AR and totally surprised her!  We pretended we were a new member family that had just moved to town.  We told them we would meet them at Braums, and when we got there she was so surprised!  We had been camping out in AR, and were only an hour away so we just had to!  It was so awesome.

After Sister Lunt left, Sister Ensign didn't come around as much.  She wanted to stay mainly with her ward.

We told the elders to get on to her about not bringing her companion over to see us, so she finally came back!

Of course the elders were glad about that!  We finally warmed up to the idea that we had elders and we really liked them!  Finally they started getting fed by us!  Elder Tyler Stevens and Elder Belnap were so awesome!

Elder Stevens also stayed in our area for 6 months and we loved him!  He was an amazing missionary and just an all around great guy.

When he got assigned with Elder Belnap, we were a little hesitant.  The first time we met Belnap he was sitting in front of us at church and Stevens was up blessing the sacrament.  Belnap was digging at his fingernails with a pocket knife and I was thinking, "oh no, who do we have here!"  

But we soon got to know him we soon discovered it was just totally his personality!  He was an Idaho farmer boy who loved potatoes and always made us laugh!  He really grew on us and we were so sad to see him leave!

So, back to Sister Ensign!  She finally brought Sister Williams over to meet us and we fell in love with her immediately!  She was an Arizona girl and knew all the same people that Ashley and Scott Petty knew!  She had also been working as a hairdresser!

So when Ashley flew back to town to do Avery and Mikah's hair for prom, Sister Williams came over and played her assistant!  Her help was much appreciated!  We also found out that Sister Williams also just lived down the street a bit from the Petty's, so her mom sent some things with Ashley.  It is a small world!  Once again, we had our sisters back and they called us and came by anytime they needed help!

Her next area was Owasso, so of course we had to go take her out for ice cream up in Owasso and make sure that city was taking care of her!

But after Sister Ensign left, Sister Williams was given Sister Smith.

Sister Amy Smith was such a sweetheart!  Much more quiet than some of our other sisters but Avery was super excited because she was a golfer. And liking sushi was a big plus again!


After Sister Williams went to Owasso, we received Sister Olivia May!  Sweet, sweet Olivia May!  She was kind of quiet at first as well but she warmed up to us pretty quickly.

And then something crazy happened!  Our mission boundaries changed and we were taken over by the OKC mission.  My whole life we were part of the Tulsa mission and a while back they changed the name of our mission to the Bentonville AR mission and now we are the OKC mission.  So Sister Gardner came to get the area under her belt while working with Sister May and then she would get a companion from her own mission.  How grateful I am to my Heavenly Father for these angels in our life.  I gained a strong testimony of Heavenly Father's individual love for each of us.  We are known, by name, and loved!
