It's that time of year again! The United Way Golf Tournament has been a part of our life for 10 years now. And just like every year before, it raised another record-breaking number! Here is Randy with some of his committee from this year.
Because it's such a long week (it is now an all-week tournament), Randy asked me to bring up one of the kids each day to have lunch with him. Today was Austin's day! Randy doesn't eat barbecue for a couple weeks before the tournament or after the tournament because he gets a full week of it! But it's so good!
This day I brought up Addie and Ashton! It's so good for the kids to see their dad in action and see what he's up to and how he's helping out the community.
These lucky girls discovered that on one of the holes they were giving away shaved ice from our favorite truck in town! We went out on the golf cart and got some for ourselves!!
The day I brought Avery out, dad was super busy! He did have a little time to hang with us but not enough time to grab a picture, so we took one of ourselves when we went out to grab some shaved ice.
Randy played a couple of rounds, but it was great to see him out playing one round with his family! Ryan came up from Owasso and Robert came all the way from Houston to play in this tournament. It was so great to have his family out to support him!
This was the first year that Avery and I saw the actual ball drop! The helicopter comes up and drops all the balls that were bought. The closest to the pin wins a trip to Vegas!
On Friday, after the last round was played, I brought the kids out for one last shaved ice (especially since Austin didn't get one on his day) and to help dad get some things cleaned up.
Clint Hansen was out there with his camera and grabbed this picture of Ashton! He's so great with the camera and she's a pretty darn cute subject! :)
We are so incredibly proud of Randy and what he has been able to accomplish with this golf tournament! Over these 10 years, he has raised over a million dollars for the Bartlesville United Way! This year alone, he raised $275,000.
We headed back up to the golf course again on Saturday to finish cleaning up and saw this sign in the clubhouse. Not only did they raise the most money yet, they also had a record-breaking number of players! Every year we think it will be Randy's last year but its hard to quit something that you've brought up from nothing. We'll see what next year holds!
