Randy started helping with the United Way 5K run last year, and even though it fell on his birthday this year, he still chose to help out.
They chose a new route which started at the Bartlesville Airport runway which was a fun change from most of the runs. Randy had to get up before sunrise to help get everything set up.
Avery was super sweet and got up with Randy and helped set up also. I came out later with the girls and Austin. I figured if it was important enough to Randy is should be important to us as well!
The little girls ran in the fun run, even their cousin Taylor Bradford came out and ran too. Julie and I both chose to run with them in the fun run. Addie ended up getting first place. Austin also ran the fun run but he stayed back with his friend and kept his pace.
Tanner John ran the 5k, and got first place in his age group.
Not only was Randy on the committee for the 5K, he chose to run it as well!
He didn't just run it, he got first place in his age group!! You still got it, babe! After the race was over there were some prizes to give out from raffle tickets purchased. It was so funny because they were down to the last prize which was a roundtrip flight, and last minute Randy threw in a blanket to give away first. Guess who had the next ticket? ME!! I could have given him an airline ticket but now he got a blanket! hahaha!
After the race we went over to Hideaway Pizza for lunch. And then home for a well deserved nap!
That night, instead of going out together, Randy chose to take the whole family out to the movie. He's such an incredible family man and we're so lucky to have him in our life!
We went and saw Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day! Happy Birthday, Randy!! No one could ever love you more than the 5 of us!!!
