United Way Golf Tournament 2013

It's that time of year again!  The United Way Golf Tournament has been a part of our life for 10 years now.  And just like every year before, it raised another record-breaking number!  Here is Randy with some of his committee from this year.

Because it's such a long week (it is now an all-week tournament), Randy asked me to bring up one of the kids each day to have lunch with him.  Today was Austin's day!  Randy doesn't eat barbecue for a couple weeks before the tournament or after the tournament because he gets a full week of it!  But it's so good!
This day I brought up Addie and Ashton!  It's so good for the kids to see their dad in action and see what he's up to and how he's helping out the community.

These lucky girls discovered that on one of the holes they were giving away shaved ice from our favorite truck in town!  We went out on the golf cart and got some for ourselves!!

The day I brought Avery out, dad was super busy!  He did have a little time to hang with us but not enough time to grab a picture, so we took one of ourselves when we went out to grab some shaved ice.

Randy played a couple of rounds, but it was great to see him out playing one round with his family!  Ryan came up from Owasso and Robert came all the way from Houston to play in this tournament.  It was so great to have his family out to support him!

This was the first year that Avery and I saw the actual ball drop!  The helicopter comes up and drops all the balls that were bought.  The closest to the pin wins a trip to Vegas!
On Friday, after the last round was played, I brought the kids out for one last shaved ice (especially since Austin didn't get one on his day) and to help dad get some things cleaned up.

Clint Hansen was out there with his camera and grabbed this picture of Ashton!  He's so great with the camera and she's a pretty darn cute subject! :)

We are so incredibly proud of Randy and what he has been able to accomplish with this golf tournament!  Over these 10 years, he has raised over a million dollars for the Bartlesville United Way!  This year alone, he raised $275,000.

We headed back up to the golf course again on Saturday to finish cleaning up and saw this sign in the clubhouse.  Not only did they raise the most money yet, they also had a record-breaking number of players!  Every year we think it will be Randy's last year but its hard to quit something that you've brought up from nothing.  We'll see what next year holds!

Football Season!!

Randy got tickets again for an OU football game.  Austin was so happy that he was the lucky one to spend the day with Dad down in Norman, OK.

The atmosphere down there on game day is incredible.  You have to be there and experience it to understand the excitement!

Austin gets a kick out of the band every time they go!  They're pretty incredible!

Another great season for the Sooners!  We love being sooner fans!

Cross Country

So I mentioned that Avery tried out Cross Country this year.  Well, she did.  But it didn't last very long!  This was her one and only meet she participated in because she was just not enjoying it.  She must take after me, because I only run because I have to!  Running isn't enjoyable... I did it to win a game but not just to do it!  She is still playing soccer and this was a good experience, especially during the summer time to keep her in shape!  But it's adios to cross country.  I don't see any of my other children attempting this sport either!  Maybe they'll surprise me, we'll just have to see!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

We had such a great night celebrating my mom!  Ann made dinner and I made dessert.  Normally grandma would always make my mom homemade angel food cake and have this fresh strawberry frosting to go on top, but of course she isn't here anymore so it was my turn to try!  I made a trifle angel food cake with strawberries instead... a little easier!  It was so great to have my grandma's sister there with us, Auntie June.  We love her to pieces!  Happy Birthday, mom!!  I hope you always know how much I love you and appreciate all the sacrifices and love you have given to us through the years.  Thanks for always being such an amazing woman of faith, you are truly such a great example to me and I love you more than words!!

Avery's Braces!!

Avery is so excited for this day to actually be here!  Its time to get her braces!
As excited as she is for them to finally be on... I know she's 10 times excited for them to be off again!  hahaha!  But with straight teeth!  She's gorgeous no matter what! :)
The girls were also at Dr. Jeff's office for fillings... aren't they adorable!  We love and appreciate Dr. Jeff and all he does for these kiddos!  His office is now in Owasso but it's worth the drive to see him!

First Day of School 2013-14

Summer is over and its time for school!  Avery is starting 7th grade at Madison Middle School.  She is playing competitive soccer and also doing Bartlesville Cross Country.  She has mixed feelings about this year because we just found out her best friend at school, Kenzy, is moving but I know she will still do great and have lots of friends.  Her favorite class will definitely be Office Aid!  She loves Lisa Johnson!

Austin is now "big man on campus" at Ranch Heights Elementary.  He's in 5th grade and has Mrs. Hough for a teacher!  We love Mrs. Hough and know she will really help him grow this year.  He has a lot of friends in his class so he's super pumped for.  I can't believe this is his last year in Elementary!!
Addison is now in 2nd grade was got the teacher she wanted, Mrs. Roseborough!  Austin also had her for 2nd grade and we love her!  Most of the kids that she is used to having in her class are not with her this year but its a great opportunity for her to get to know some of the other good kids.  I know she's going to love this school year.
Ashton is now in Kindergarten!  She has Mrs. Mims as her teacher.  Austin had Mrs. Mims as a first grade teacher but I think she will be great as a Kindergarten teacher.  Her husband comes up and helps a lot with her class and I love it.  It's good to have a man around for some of these little kids and he helps the kids stay focused and on task.
One last picture of my Ranch Height's Wranglers.  This will actually be the last year that Austin will be at school with the girls for a long time!  They just changed our schools to where High School will be 9th-12th so Addie will have one last opportunity to be at the same school with Austin when he's a senior but Ashton won't ever be at school with him again after this year.  Life happens so fast!

Addie's 7th Birthday!!

It's our Addie John's birthday!!  I'm so grateful for this cute little spunky girl!  She shows her passion in everything she does!  I can't believe she's turning 7!
Addie chose a breakfast at a little downtown diner that Randy likes to go to, Weeze's Cafe!  Some good hometown cooking for breakfast!
Some Chili's for lunch!
Addie's favorite gift this year was her very first American Girl doll!  I don't think she has ever smiled so big!
For Addie's 7th birthday we had a little sleepover party with some friends.  They stayed up late, Avery did their hair and make-up and they watched Teen Beach Movie which was new on DVD at this time.
Our birthday girl in her new pajamas and freshly done make-up courtesy of Avery!  Hope you had a wonderful birthday Addie and always know how special you are and how much we love and adore you!
