Avery and Austin were both sick for Valentines Day! It was really hard for them to stay home and miss their parties at school. I felt so bad! We tried to make Saturday extra special for them. The kids started the morning with pink donuts and candy- definitely a treat!
However, Ashton had her usual bottle and Cheerios!
Randy always sends Avery flowers to school, but this year she had some tulips waiting for her when she woke up Saturday morning. She is very excited to plant them in the flowerbed and watch them come back every year.
The kids informed me that they would be missing out on cupcakes, so Randy stopped at the store for the ingredients and we made some ourselves.
And of course my sweetheart got me roses and took me to dinner and a movie! I love you, Randy! Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

Ashton is crawling!!
Last night I had Ashton on the floor playing with some toys while I was sitting in the recliner watching a movie. All of a sudden, she was next to me playing with my shoes! My first thought was I must have had her closer to me than I realized... so I moved her further away and watched. Sure enough, she pulled herself right back to me. I can't believe she is in the beginning stages of crawling! You're growing up baby!

Principle's Award
Avery had an assembly this week and received the Principle's Award for all-around school excellence. They award one boy and one girl from each grade. The award says, "Because of you, our school is a better place to learn. You have proven to me by your actions that one person can make a difference. I applaud you for what you have accomplished and look forward to hearing even more great things about you in the future." Along with her certificate she received a free kids meal at Chili's and a bracelet. Randy, Addie, Ashton and I were all there- but we only got a picture of her with Addison because we ran out of time. The yearbook was taking pictures of all the kids from the different grades that received the award. Way to go Avery, we are so proud of you!

Oklahoma Winter
Our winter in Oklahoma this year has been a complete rollercoaster of temperatures! One day we will be in the 70's and by that evening we will drop to 20 degrees. We have done that a handful of times this season. This was one of the warmer days!
Addie loves to go to the park, her favorite thing to do is swing on the swings. She could stay there for hours- but I got her off to enjoy the rest of the toys.
So the weather has really done a number on me with my allergies! I never even had an allergy problem, but windy and warm one day and then windy and cold the next is not great on my system. But I'm not going to complain- because I'm very grateful for those "breaks" in the weather. If it was always warm, I wouldn't notice it! But now when its warm, everything in my life stops and we just go out and enjoy the day.
This particular day the older kids were back in school and once again the weather was starting to turn back cold, so we went to the park without Avery and Austin. Ashton loves watching Addie play on the toys. She thinks Addie is the funniest person alive!

Kaylin Murphys 1st birthday
Our friends Bobbi and Ryan Murphy flew in from Utah after Christmas. Their little girl, Kaylin, turns 1 in January so we celebrated her birthday while they were here. The kids had so much fun! Of course Kevin and Kelly Murphy live here in town and we are lucky enough to hang out with them often! Our kids love Addison and Emerson- and they were so excited to see Kaylin again! Susan and Micheal Murphy had us over and had an AWESOME party- one our kids won't forget!

Cooking with Nana
Nana always comes up with fun things for the kids to do with her. I know my kids LOVE spending time with her and making memories. Thanks for all your fun ideas Nana!
Addie loved making graham cracker Christmas trees, gingerbread men, and snowmen out of marshmallows.
Even Uncle Joe got in on the action! Nice snowman, Uncle Joe!
Here are the kids showing off a few of their masterpieces! Take a look at Ashton! This was the only way we could keep her happy while we took the picture!
