I'm Trying To Be Like Jesus

I'm trying to be like Jesus, I'm following in his ways. I'm trying to love as He did, in all that I do and say.

At times, I am tempted to make a wrong choice but I try to listen as the still, small voice whispers

Love one another as Jesus love you. Try to show kindness in all that you do.

Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, for these are the things Jesus taught. (LDS Childrens Primary Song)

More from the wedding!

Our family was definitely much smaller than Lindsays, but we filled out pretty well! I felt so blessed to have been able to make it up there for this special occasion!

I love my brothers and sisters! It was so great to be there with some of them. Here I am with Joe and Lindsay, Amy and Jordan. My sisters Ann and Sara weren't able to make it and we sure missed them!
I love this picture of my mom and Joe! They both just look so happy, and I know they both were! I told my mom she needs to use this as her facebook picture!
Wow! I went from two single brothers just months ago to having two married brothers! It's been a great experience traveling to Tennessee and Utah for their weddings. I'm so proud of them and the example they are to my children. Here they are showing off their "ring power".

Joe + Lindsay = LOVE

Joe and Lindsay's wedding was beautiful. Of course the best part for me was to have so many family members in the temple with me. First and foremost, my wonderful husband. I'm so happy to have found such a great man to take me to the temple and raise a beautiful family with. And my other great examples: my sister Amy and her wonderful husband Todd, my brother Jordan and his beautiful wife Jen, my mom, dad and his wife Deb. And of course I was so excited to be there for Joe and to gain another sister! Lindsay is awesome and most importantly she loves my brother so much!
They are such a cute couple! They have now settled down in Tampa (Brandon) Florida and are doing great! They had a huge road trip after their wedding driving Lindsay's car from Utah to Florida, and I think they had a blast doing it! I remember traveling back up to Utah after our wedding in St. Louis and then a reception in Oklahoma. At that point nothing else matters but the person sitting in the passenger seat!
I love this picture of Joe, because it captured his "beaming" face. And believe me, he was beaming! I'm so proud of him and the choices he has made that brought him to Lindsay at the right time and right place.
At the luncheon after the wedding I told everyone how Joe brought Lindsay to meet our family for the first time to go on a roadtrip for 10 hours in a car with my four kids. She was amazing with the kids and past our test right away! We love you Lindsay! So excited to have you in the family!

I Love To See The Temple... Part 2

I love to see the temple. I'm going there someday.

To feel the Holy Spirit, to listen and to pray.

For the temple is a house of God, a place of love and beauty

I'll prepare myself while I am young, this is my sacred duty. (LDS Childrens Primary Song)

Families Can Be Together Forever

I have a family here on Earth, they are so good to me. I want to share my life with them through all eternity.

Families can be together forever, through Heavenly Father's plan.

I always want to be with my own family

and the Lord has shown me how I can. The Lord, has shown me how I can. (LDS Children Primary song)

I Love To See The Temple

March 20th... the big day! As I stated earlier, my brother Joe was getting married Spring Break weekend so we decided to make it a family vacation. We took sooo many pictures at the temple and I had to pick just a few to share. Here is Avery and Randy.
And here are Austin and I outside of the temple. There is such a great spirit here... so much history and new history being made every day!
Here is Randy with Addie. There was actually a nice little waiting room just inside the temple for the kids to hang out in. Lindsay's brother and sister stayed with our kids while we went into the sealing. They had a church movie playing and some pictures of Jesus that they could color.
And last but not least is Ashton and I. It was somewhat cold but if you stood in the sun it wasn't too bad. I don't think Ashton noticed the weather at all. She loved running around and just like my other kids, she's pretty used to her picture being taken.

March Madness Baby!

Every year we do a John family bracket for March Madness. We always have a lot of fun with it. Since we were with Courtney and Jared for most the beginning of the games, we also did a bracket with them. That is Randy's way of making everyone want to watch the games. Of course this game he didn't have to make me watch! The TV has a little blur... but if you look closely you can tell its our own Noah Hartsock in the first round of playoffs. Gooooo Cougars!!
Randy was so fun to watch! The game was quite exciting and if he wasn't on the edge of his seat, he was standing in front of the TV so no one else could see! Luckily, BYU won this game! We did pretty good in our brackets with the Geislers, however we both lost big time in our family bracket! It was a crazy year in basketball... and we can't wait for next year!
